Virtual Reality is Dead !

 

 

 

Since Apple solidify the idea of a touch screen device, now this interface has become the standard, even the gold rule, of all electronic gadgets, but even this very natural way of interacting -there is not need of keyboard or mouse, just your finger- has a limitation, with a high price tag, we are talking about the hardware: all the user interaction is limited in the screen size, as well the resolution, and remember that the most expensive part of any touch screen device is the display. - the Ipad 2 manufacture price is around $327, basic wifi model, the price of the screen is $127, is more than a third of the total cost-. 

There are two options for us, great ideas that hopefully will become real pretty soon, the first one  is Microsfot's OMNITOUCH, a projector device that allows the user interface in any surface possible and Sixth Sense, another gadget that allows the dynamic interaction with his/her environment. This devices are a great way to have feedback of our surrounding in real time ( ala Snake Eye of Metal Gear Solid) imagine that you are getting out from work, the beginning of the weekend, as soon the devices " See " or "sense" your car, it will display the best route available, to avoid the traffic jam. Or maybe if you are buying the groceries, the devices project the price of any type of product giving you the best one. Maybe you are in a diet and counts the calories of the meals you already ate, imagine doctors; they will be able to give you a scan your body throughout these gadgets to notice any type of fever - thermal sensors-  heart rhythm, now the need to be at the doctors office will be only if more evaluation is need it. Cheaper, faster. Fantastic. 

 

Microsoft Omnitouch prototype. Imagine instead of having the "over-the-shoulder-camera" you can put a tiny camera and a tiny projector on glasses. 

A personal tutor for math and science, languages will be easier to learn.  A true personal assistant, in your face apple!

 

The Sixth Sense, amazing idea, waiting to become a reality.  

All these with a very easy interface, a truly easy way to interact with the world. I am just anxiously waiting for that day to be here. 

 

No virtual Reality my friends, Augmented Reality. It is indeed a long journey, but the first steps are here, and believe what I say, this is gonna be a hell of a marathon.

This has been a very interesting week in technology, all because the Consumer Electronic Show was held in Las Vegas , and in plain english  is the version of porn fest for geeks but instead of beautiful women with 38 kkk breast, or girls with the amazing talent of having three oranges on their mouth at the same time. You will take  peek on sexy and hot electronics, full of shiny  devices, which are a promise to do amazing stuff. perhaps an iPad killer?  maybe and iPhone killer? And where we can see the future of naughty, naughty electronics.

This CES you can notice an interesting shift, there is not a breakthrough hardware, - no Xbox 720, no PS4- instead we have a beautiful oled tv by Samsung and LG which look absolutely fantastic, or Nokia's Lumia 900 phone, from Nokia, running on windows 7 Mango OS, LTE phone, 4.3 inch AMOLED Screen with a Carl Zeiss Lens - the best optics in its class-  ATT will be the carrier, that means a very expensive data plan. No price or release date yet.

 

 

This phone might be the make or break deal to Nokia.

 

Just a revamp, improve, get better, faster, ala iPhone 4s.

As well you can find very quirky devices like Olly, that can be to your computer, each time that there is an update from any social network, there is an scent ( of your choice) that will alert you. Receiving your updates are gonna be fun, but honestly I think these apparatus just keep the stereotype about geeks and personal hygiene, or flatulance.

Hmmm, second thought, I am in!!!!

 

 

Now you can be connected all day long to the net, playing Skyrim and not need of taking a shower. 

 

 The three more promising devices to watch these CES 2012 are:

 

LG OLED TV, 55 inch, 3D.

This  is a gorgeous OLED TV of 55 inches, from LG, -55EM9600-  that is coming out this year hopefully before december 21, you know, doomsday-  the thing about this tv is that the screen has an amazing display because of the use of the Organic Low Emission Diode (OLED) which gives a more natural, vivid colors, and the device thickness is just 4mm ( .15 inch) . Is just amazing.

 

Why the need of going out, when reality looks way more better throughout this tv.

This is the working model, coming out this fall, it is beautiful indeed. 

Bundle with apps, internet and 3D in its whole glory.  No prices revealed yet, but the rumor is about $8000 dlls. 

 Makerbot Replicator 3D printer. 

This Machine is is very promising,  is a 3D printer,(yeah, 3D printer), that will allow you, well, print about everything you want. Imagine that you, by mistake dropped you iPad and the aluminum body got messed up. Well, you go to your house, turn on  the MakerBot Replicator 3D and just get some aluminum form your sodas can and Voila , your fresh and new iPad body is there! Maybe with the time just some sand, electronic sensors and dale! a new replacement for your tv screen and or iPhone, tablet, gadget and whatever needs a fixture now you can print it.  I can see this printer in any graphic designer office and even architecture firms to have escalated miniatures of their creations, to minimize costs and maximize earnings. 

 

I can print lego pieces and create sick designs now! 

This printer just works now with plastic, hey but there is  always a first step, the price of this device in one color $ 1799 dlls, two colors, $ 1,999 dlls.  

This reminds me a lot of a human tissue printer. An amazing idea as well, with a altruistic goal. Check the video, is fantastic

 

 

 

Razer Project, Fiona. 

Video games are a scape of reality: a place where you can be the hero ,the villain, kill innocents, make some havoc, be a sorcerer, a soldier. It's an virtual reality, where most likely, there is gonna be a happy life. In reality, we know how everything is gonna end.

From that primordial fear, I present you the Razer Project, Fiona. 

 

 

Looks like and IPad with Playstation move controllers attached to it.

A hybrid console Windows 8 tablet, aimed to play pc video games , with an Intel processor i7 CPU - the most powerful processor for this specific task. With this steer wheel design - not of the best on my humble opinion-  hard core gamers, will be able to play pc games on the  go. With a resolution of 1280 x 800, be willing to pay the $1,000. 

 

What you think about these devices? A Need  or just for showing off? or the line between these attributes is getting thinner?

This question was proposed by Lauren F. Friedman to some scholars about why " Intelligence is negatively associated with sex frequency" as said Rosemary Hopcroft a sociologist from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 

Looks like people with higher education  generally have a lower number of sexual partners, example: high School diplomas degrees get approximately eight sexual partners per year, College degrees no more than four. 

Feeling to close right now that book of Advance Finances, or Calculus and go to the closest bar and show the world and yourself that what are you are reading is completely wrong and you are able to get vagina/ass/penis? - whatever you like- and does not matter how nerd you are!

Wait, before you close the book -or turn off that iPad you fucking geek  -and get into a world of of carnal pleasures and sin, you might want to know why is this happening in your virgin life. Guess what, there might be a perfect reason for you being in this way now.

Looks like the behaviour regarding our sexual life is learned in our teenage stage. A very high number of college freshman still virgin, specially females and this is correlated with the pursuit of a degree because if you engage in an active sexual life the chances of getting pregnant are higher thus getting the college career becomes harder to reach. 

But this lack of action has it's long term purpose. When you are in college you use a lot of energy and resources, but then the rewards are a better income, a more stable way of life that it can be channelled to the offspring and thus perpetuate the species. Thus deep inside in our mind we are drive by the solely idea of keep our species safe. 

" Money, not intelligence, helps men have more sex" Hopcroft says. " in and of itself, intellect won't do the trick but intelligence helps them get the money".

Pot and iPod for iPad ..... ( iPot?)

Ahhh.... dear iPad, no doubt that you are one of the most hot gadgets in the market, with more than 2 million units sold in less that two months ( almost one iPad per second) and many apple stores running out of this fantastic device, more than one is frustrated with not having you in their hands, as well that many americans are going thru one of the worst recessions since de Great Depression in the 1920's and maybe, just maybe that's  why Jacob Walker; from Gilbert, Arizona was in a tight situation and he came to a great idea of put in craigslist.org an ad, to be able to get his iPad and make someone happy at the same time. 

Jacob Walker was offering iPod and Weed.

First Let me tell you that in the United States is ILEGAL to sell or exchange marijuana ( only when is medical dispensary, with strict regulations and some states only ) and second, if you are gonna do something like this, well; do not use internet to post this info, am telling you this because someone reported the ad to the police, an undercover detective contacted Mr. Walker and made an arrangement to the exchange, and then he got arrested with the weed in his hands. 

Use some common sense, I mean.... whom possibly want to exchange an iPad ( $499) for an used Ipod    ( $299) ? ...... 

The weed is gonna be gone in no time , the iPad instead, stays for ever ........
